How I Created the All Things Notion Podcast Planner

Step 1: Start with Deep Research into the audience’s needs!

• 6 weeks before the creative process, I started deep research by looking into my audience, thinking about what I wanted to outline in each Podcast planner section, and design and testing once the process started.

• Deep research drives my Notion database work because I want to ensure the platform meets the needs of my audience.

Step 2: Design the Hub!

• The Hub is the home page where all of your sub-pages will stay. Once I design this page, I’m able to dive deeper into the different sections of the Notion database that will work best for busy podcasters.

• Home base will need to include the weeks & production workflow for each episode.

• The home base will also include strategy and ideation sections that feed directly into the master podcast episode database, which is important because you can keep all of your content in one database.

• Niche product sections like the brand partnership tracker, guest management, and a podcast form perfect to send to your guests are useful to keep information in one place rather than multiple locations that may be frustrating to search for outside of Notion.

Step 3: Design the Layout!

• Designing the Notion layout is fun, but it’s also very important for the visual aesthetics.

• I design different layouts to ensure everything is as user-friendly as possible.

• The best layouts are the ones that anyone can use because they’re simple and straightforward to use.

• My favourite part is working with amazing creators who help me create a custom brand experience for the Notion template that genuinely fits my audience.
